Damon Hodges has been named City Administrator for the City of Raytown, MO., effective December 9, 2018. He is familiar to many as Raytown’s Public Works Director, a role he has held since June 19, 2017, and recently as Raytown’s Assistant City Administrator. Mr. Hodges has served for the past six months as an interim co-administrator for Raytown alongside Missy Wilson, who will continue as Assistant City Administrator.

“Damon Hodges has proven to us that he can work with all segments of the community to find solutions and make government more efficient and transparent,” said Raytown Mayor, Mike McDonough. “His abilities were proven through his collaborative work on a number of challenging infrastructure projects here in Raytown over the past year and a half. He is always friendly, efficient, well respected by staff and professional and has a long track record of accomplishments in our region.”

Administrator Hodges has a Master of Business Administration degree from Baker University, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern A&M University. He previously served 15 years at the City of Kansas City, Missouri, where his last position was a Senior Project Manager for major capital projects. He was born and raised in Kansas City, MO., and has a 15-year track record of building communities throughout the region. He and his wife of 19 years, Penney, have three children.

“I am proud of the resiliency Raytown has shown, and I have seen how hard our elected officials and City employees work to make us a jewel in the region,” said Administrator Hodges. “Working to complete the construction of two major capital improvement projects, the 83rd Street Bridge replacement, and the 59th Street sidewalk improvements, reflect what we are capable of creating together. While bridges and sidewalks provide the ability to connect people, our working relationships create true connectivity within the community.”
