Virginia Charlotte Gregory, 75, of Grandview, MO passed away on February 23, 2019.
Charlotte, as she preferred to be called, was born on February 3, 1944 in Jeffersonville, IN to Hollace and Virginia (Rawls) Baldwin. She was the oldest of five children and learned the value of hard work growing up on her family’s dairy farm.
Being from a conservative and traditional family, she was expected to attend college for either the nursing program or teaching program. She chose neither and shortly after that packed up and started for California. When she got to Kansas City she worked for Hallmark. Later she moved to Denver, CO working for Bell Telephone.
It was at Bell Telephone that she met her husband of 53 years, Bo Gregory, and they had two daughters. The family moved around to a couple different states before finally settling in the Kansas City area. After Charlotte’s children were older, she went back to work and spent 24 years working for Kids-R-Us, later Toys-R-Us, which was a huge perk for her grandchildren with whom she adored and loved to spoil.
Charlotte is preceded by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Bo Gregory; daughters Michelle (Sean) Ahern and Cindy Gregory, and grandchildren Amanda (Matt) Holloway, Austin Ahern, Sam Winton, Allison Winton, and Sarah Ahern.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149. A private interment will take place in Longview Cemetery.
