May 25, 1958 ~ July 30, 2019

Rebecca Roeber, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away July 30, 2019 in Estes Park, Colorado while on vacation with her family.

Representative Rebecca Roeber

Rebecca was born May 25, 1958 in Kansas City, Mo., and lived a life dedicated to public service. After graduating from Avila University, she was a teacher in the Raytown School District for 17 years followed by five years in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was incredibly passionate about politics and making Missouri a better place for students.

Beyond her career, Rebecca loved spending time with her family. If you knew her, you knew one of her favorite hobbies was to travel. Her wanderlust took her all over the globe with her favorite travel partner — her husband Rick.

She also loved spending time with her grandkids. She could often be caught taking them on adventures to do fun activities — leaving them with many great memories of their grandma.

Rebecca was gifted lots of time with her family and friends these last four months while she was in the hospital recovering from a car accident and she made it known how grateful she was for all the visitors.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister, Melanie Audley. She is survived by her Mother and step-father, Virginia and Bob Lambright, her husband Rick, two children, Nathan and Andrea Hewitt, four grandchildren, Raiden, Atticus, Raven and Xavier, three brothers, four nieces, a nephew and many other family members.

A visitation and memorial service will be held Monday August 12th. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon with a short memorial service following at Abundant Life Church (304 SW Persels Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 6408).

Flags will fly at half mast in Missouri on that day in memoriam of Rebecca’s service to our state.
