January 1, 1927 ~ February 15, 2020

Norman Wilbur Maloney, 93, formerly of Lee’s Summit MO, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg MO, where he had lived for 3 years.

He was born January 1, 1927, in Elm MO, the son of Jess Maloney and Bonnie Beall Maloney. Norman graduated from Holden High School in 1945, then joined the United States Army where he served honorably from June 1945 to December 1946.

He married Billie Marie Shippy on February 12, 1949. He farmed in Elm, drove a Skelly Oil truck then moved to Lee’s Summit, working in Quality Control for Western Electric 22 years before retiring. During those years he also became a realtor and broker of Norm Maloney Realty. Norman was a member of the Kingsville Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Board of Realtors, the Warrensburg Masonic Lodge #265 and the Lee’s Summit Masonic Lodge #263.

He is survived by son Norman Michael Maloney (fiancé Betty Boan) of Blue Spring MO; daughters Patricia Juncos (Eduardo) of Springfield MO; Ann Maloney-Halim (Solomon) of Lincoln NE; Kim Fogarty (Robert) of Lee’s Summit MO; brother Elvin Maloney (Mary) of Warrensburg MO; sisters Janice Reynolds (Bob) of Strasburg MO; Carole Ford of Kingsville MO; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie (2014); brother-in-law Bill Ford and sister-in-law Lorene Maloney.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in the chapel of the Missouri Veterans Home (1300 Veterans Road, Warrensburg MO). 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Assistance Fund (c/o MO Veterans Home address above) in memory of Norman Maloney.
