It is with great sadness that we announce the first death of a previously identified COVID-19 patient in Eastern Jackson County. The individual was a female in her 80s who had not recently traveled. Our deepest condolences go out to the family of this individual. Out of respect to the family, we will not be providing additional details at this time.

The individuals affected are a twelve month-old girl and a woman in her 70s.
