Based on the urgency of the COVID-19 public health emergency, it is our understanding that Jackson County will issue a stay-at-home order effective 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, March 24. The order is necessary to slow the rapid progression of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible. It will stay in effect for 30 days and may be extended based on recommendations from public health officials.

Residents will be required to stay at home except for travel to meet basic needs or to provide essential services. Although the City has yet to receive the order, Jackson County has provided FAQs with guidance on these measures. Visit https://www.jacksongov.org/1186/Stay-at-Home-FAQs.

To comply with these measures, the City of Lee’s Summit will be providing only essential governmental functions. The City is conducting a review of services and the level to which they will be provided. More details will be released tomorrow, March 22.
