August 18, 1955 ~ March 21, 2020

Virginia “Gina” Jacqueline Burrus, 64, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on March 21, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at a later date.

Gina was born August 18, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Carlton H. and Frances P. Burrus. She worked many different careers during her life, but enjoyed the title of Grandma best. Keashawn, Angel, and Anthony were the most important things in her life.

Gina loved music, especially 50’s and 60’s rock n’ roll and was known for always being skinny no matter how much she ate, especially her BBQ flavored chips. She made friends wherever she went, never knowing a stranger. Gina was a free spirit and stayed brave until the end.

Gina is preceded in death by her dad, Carl; older sister, Christine Holly Masoner; best friend for life, Betty Sue Williams; and brother in-law, Richard Masoner.

Survivors include her mom, Frances; daughter, Brandy Burrus; three grandchildren, Keashawn, Angel, and Anthony; sisters, Sharon Dowse, Brenda (Mark) Cates, and Therese Burrus; many nieces and nephews; and all of her special friends that meant so much to her.

Gina will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
