August 22, 1931 ~ April 6, 2020

Faye R. Homan, age 88, of Higginsville, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Meyer Care Center. Faye was born in Vendor, AR on August 22, 1931, the first born of six children to the late Ernest Price and the late Caroline Price (Middleton).

Faye married Robert Burdine in 1948; they had one daughter, Ricki. The family moved from Arkansas to Kansas City, MO in the early 1950’s where Faye remained most of her life. On October 18, 1958 she and William K. (Bill) Homan, Sr. married and blended their families. Three children were born of this union; Terry, Wesley, and Lisa Homan. Bill preceded her in death on November 17, 1999.

Faye was a devoted mother, loved working outdoors and her specialty was keeping an immaculate home. She was a homemaker while her children were young, but joined her husband as co-owner in their business, T&W Steel in Lees Summit, MO. Faye and Bill enjoyed many travels, multiple cruises, motorcycle trips, RV traveling and spent several winters in Tucson, AZ. She loved friendly competition in card games and dominoes with family and friends. Faye was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the Chiefs and Royals. She participated in a watch party to celebrate the Chiefs Super Bowl win. 

After the death of her husband, Faye moved to Harrison, AR to help care for her aging mother. In 2010, after the passing of her mother, she relocated to John Knox Village East in Higginsville to be closer to family.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Bill; one son, Terry Homan; one step-son, William (Billy) Homan Jr; one grandson, Joshua Green; and one brother, Ernest Price, Jr.

Surviving are two daughters; Ricki (Rod) Kirchhoff of Higginsville, Lisa Homan of Kansas City; one step-daughter, Linda (Bob) Suttle of North Carolina; one son Wesley (Dawn) Homan of Lee’s Summit; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan (Julie) Kirchhoff, Reid Kirchhoff, Aimee (Chris Bates) Homan, Derick Homan, Brianna Homan, Jackson Homan, Kyle Homan, Gabriel Homan, Steven Homan, Matthew Homan, Daniel Homan, Rachel Homan, Esther Homan; five great-grandchildren; four sisters; Shirley (Jim) Lee, Thelma Keef, Marilyn (David) Clark, Judy (Tom) Pannell and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, a private graveside service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2020 with a celebration of life at a later date. Casket bearers: Derick Homan, Kyle Homan, Lisa Homan, Wesley Homan, Rod Kirchhoff, Ryan Kirchhoff. Honorary casket bearers: Chris Bates, Christopher Bates, Kian Gonzalez, Jackson Homan, Reid Kirchhoff, Brayden Wiecken.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Beacon of Hope Hospice or Higginsville Park & Rec – to sponsor uniform purchases for less fortunate children.
