August 24, 1929 ~ April 17, 2020

Everett Roy Bretches of Lee’s Summit, MO., passed away April 17, 2020 at the age of 90, after living a full life. Surrounded in spirit by his loved ones. Roy was born in Abilene, KS., to Chester Bretches & Ida Diehl, on August 24, 1929.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne, brothers, Charlie, Don, Frank and sister Carol. His memory will be cherished by his five loving children, Mary Wood, of Branson Mo, JR Bretches (Kim) of Overland Park, Kathi Grose (Quinn) of Lee’s Summit Mo, Robin Brockman (Rob) of Overland Park, KS, Debbie Skeens of Lee’s summit, MO. 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Roy worked construction for 50+ years, with his brothers, son JR, son-in-law Rob, grandsons. Bill, Bob & Brian, and countless others teaching them the trade of carpentry.

He gave his love of faith, laughter and fishing to all around him. He was the type of man who was always there for his family, planting the seed of faith. Loved teaching bible school to the children at church.

Burial will be at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery. Memorial contributions my be made to Lumi Care Hospice, 220 NW R. D. Mize Rd., Ste 101 Blue Springs, MO., 64014 or Greenwood Christian church, 601 St. Greenwood MO., 64030. No flowers please.
