Edward Croteau, of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Waterford, CT, passed away on October 19, 2020 at the age of 86. Edward is survived by his beloved wife Georgette LaPrise Croteau; his sister Shirley Brown of Marlborough, NH; his 4 children, Trevor Croteau of Minnesota, Edward Croteau of Missouri, Julie Wolff of Florida, and Jeffrey Croteau of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Born in Marlborough, NH, Edward graduated from Keene State College where he played baseball, basketball, and tennis, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
He and his wife settled in Waterford, CT raising their four children while earning a master’s degree from Weslyan University, Middletown, CT.
Edward was head of the math department and tennis coach at New London High School from 1957-1988 and also taught at Connecticut College in New London.
Retiring to Florida, he and his wife enjoyed sailing and golfing, and were active members of their congregation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
