Lee’s Summit CARES will present the 18th annual Mayor’s Character Breakfast on Jan. 27 to celebrate individuals making a difference in the Lee’s Summit community. Scheduled from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Pavilion at John Knox Village, the breakfast includes a message from Kansas City Royals broadcaster Joel Goldberg.

Tables of eight are available for $160. Individual tickets are $20. Tickets can be purchased at www.LSCares.org. The community event is limited to 600 attendees this year. The deadline for table and ticket sales is Jan. 17.

The theme for this year’s event is Building Your Field of Dreams. Keynote speaker Joel Goldberg is a broadcaster for the Kansas City Royals and author of the book, “Small Ball Big Results.”

Lee’s Summit Mayor Bill Baird and Lee’s Summit CARES Executive Director Elaine Perilla will present awards. Awards include the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Ethics in Business Award and Reflections of Character Awards, which are based on positive character traits.

The Mayor’s Character Breakfast is presented by Lee’s Summit CARES with support from Saint Luke’s East Hospital and Flooring and More, and other community sponsors.
