The time has come for some area high school basketball teams to play in district tournaments and try to keep their seasons alive one game at a time. Both Summit Christian Academy and St. Michael’s will find themselves tipping off post season play next week.
The Class 3 District 14 tournament will be played at Lafayette High School in Higginsville, MO. The fun begins with a pair of games on Monday, Feb 21 when the #4 seed Summit Christian Eagles Girls play #5 seed Barstow at 5:30 p.m. With a win the Eagles will play a second round game on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 p.m. The boys district tournament starts the next day on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The Summit Christian Eagles boys are the #5 seed and play at 4:30 p.m. against #4 seeded Lexington. With a win the Eagles will advance to play top seed Lafayette County on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
The St. Michael’s Guardians boys team is also competing in the Class 3, District 14 tourney. The Guardians are the #2 seed and open play at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb, 22 against #7 seed St. Paul Lutheran. With a win the Guardians will advance to play a semi-final round game on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The Guardians girls team will be competing in the Class 5, District 7 tournament being played at Warrensburg High School. First round game finds the Guardians the #4 seed team playing #5 seed St. Teresa’s Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. With a win the Guardians will play again on Tuesday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m.
