Pleasant Hill has an exciting new medical and urgent care option available, Urgent Care of Kansas, located at 220 N State Route 7 Hwy. Having completed his medical training at Oklahoma University, Saboor Rashid, MD has 10 years of experience in trauma centers, and is dual board certified in Family and Emergency Medicine.

The new clinic is equipped for, but not limited to: wound care, primary care, sports physicals, fevers, mental health care, allergies/reactions, urgent care, lacerations, sprains and strains, burns, x-rays, lab work and prescriptions. Walk-ins are welcome; the clinic is open 7 days/week.

Saboor Rashid, MD says he loves to have a connection with his patients, and loves the home town feel as opposed to the corporate models of medical care.

Dr. Rashid worked as an Emergency Room physician; in 2019 he was working at a small clinic in Gardner, Kansas. When the COVID19 pandemic suddenly hit our country, they were pushed into becoming a much larger facility and found themselves handling approximately 500 people per day. The doctor explains they were “thrown into the deep end” with the arrival of the pandemic, and proved to themselves that they could manage larger numbers of people. Dr. Rashid branched off from the Gardner Clinic to come to Pleasant Hill. Another clinic in De Soto, Kansas is on the radar for March of 2023.

Dr. Rashid takes patients of all age groups. His oldest patient to-date, he recalls while displaying his kind smile, was 102 years of age. Dr. Rashid is very personable and relaxed in presentation. He says he loves chocolate chip cookies, so there’s some good common ground conversation for nervous children who visit his clinic. He says he prefers the older, more personal model of provider care.

Vara, Dr. Rashid’s wife, is the receptionist who is so proficient at her work in the office that the doc boasts that she’s the brainwork of the operation. They have three children, and they enjoy tending to youngsters through elderly folks.

As far as insurance plans, the clinic accepts Medicaid, Medicare, tri-care and commercial insurance, and Dr Rashid assures the lowest cash prices for the care he offers.

If the need is deemed warranted, they will likely add after-hours care.
