On Tuesday, March 14, 2023 around 12:30 p.m., Raytown Fire Protection District with automatic mutual aid from Kansas City Fire Department responded to the 5700 block of Manning Ave in Raytown on a house fire.

Upon arrival of fire companies, heavy smoke and fire was showing from the garage area of the home with heavy smoke throughout the entire residence.

The fire was contained to the garage with some extension to the attic and kitchen. One person was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. One dog was lost to smoke and another dog was rescued.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Raytown Fire Marshal’s Office.
