On December 2, 2023, Prairie Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), Lee’s Summit, MO. presented Mayor Kristofer P. Turnbow of Raymore Missouri, The DAR Distinguished Citizen Medal.

Mayor Kristofer Turnbow, Mayor of Raymore, Missouri, has excelled in both the military and law enforcement of our country. In his capacity as Mayor, he held a 9-11 ceremony on the 20th Anniversary.

Two years into Kristofer P. Turnbow’s career as Raymore Police Chief and shortly after the September 11th attacks, he was called to the Pentagon to serve as an intelligence liaison officer assigned to the Joint Intelligence Task Force Combating Terrorism (JITFTC), and then served as the assistant director and director at the Counter Intelligence Staff Office at the United States Transportation Command (TRANSCOM).

Under Turnbow’s leadership as mayor, the city of Raymore has flourished with exceptional growth in population, economic development and beautiful amenities for our residents and visitors.

The DAR Distinguished Citizen Medal recognizes individuals, 18 years of age and older, who fulfill the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism. The DAR Distinguished Citizen Medal is awarded to emergency first responders; emergency health responders, active duty military and veterans of the United States armed forces; and citizens who have contributed to the defense and security of the community, state, or nation in an exceptional manner.
